What you are about to hear is a story about the worst nuclear disaster in history.A disaster which forever changed the world as we knew it and dramatically affected countless lives. Work was started in 1977 on the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. Little did anyone know, this would end in turmoil, as it was doomed to meltdown from the start due to design flaws and the Soviet Union's carelessness - even trying to cover up the accident despite radiation spreading across the entire continent. We will now take you through events from here to the disaster itself.

The city of Prypiat is so nice to stay My friends are so jealous I moved away Nice homes and clean air all around But my husband works himself into the ground The city of Prypiat is somewhat okay My friends are so jealous I went away We live here at the government's discretion Something we don't dare question The city of Prypiat is a place to stay My friends are all M.I.A I don't know if I'll be okay I'll have to see what they say The city of Prypiat is so amazing My friends are so jealous I moved today Great homes and sweet air all to the ground And my husband has time to always be around [Solo]

This job will get us the really-big bucks If we hurry, we will get a bonus Who really cares about how safety works? All we care about is us, us, us [Chorus] Plans doomed to failure Plans motivated by money to be made Plans doomed to failure We really don't care if you are safe If we hurry, we can get more work done Who really cares about being careful? We will build Chornobyl in a dead run Building it slow is too dull, dull, dull [Chorus]

Excavations of new harbors, big dams, canals, passes through rugged mountainous terrain. These, and other massive imaginative earth-moving projects, may soon be ours - created in seconds with the tremendous energy of the peaceful atom. Nuclear explosives for large projects that are simply not feasible with conventional methods - and at considerably less expense. Scientists and engineers today are carefully working towards these goals with a series of nuclear excavation experiments designed to increase their knowledge and skills in this exciting new concept. They call their program "[Project] Plowshare". It is a deliberate, careful, scientific program. Cratering and excavation - through the use of nuclear explosives. The peaceful atom: a tool to move a mountain.

[Solo] Don't you ever wonder if it's all a lie? If it were, would you still try? They've thought of many, countless ways to hide the truth from you If they knew how you really felt, what do you think would happen to you? A shadow's looming overhead, and no one seems to give a damn A shadow's looming overhead, and no one asks any questions A shadow's looming overhead, and the government is just a scam A shadow's looming overhead, and they control our minds with suggestions A shadow's looming overhead, and they endanger our lives A shadow's looming overhead, and it'll be a wonder if any of us survive

April 26, 1986 12:23AM: Chornobyl's reactor number 4 control room. A fateful test will begin. The future of the reactor and world is in the hands of three men. 12:29 AM: But there is another important character. The newly commissioned reactor number 4 itself. One of the Soviet Union's proudest achievements, which will be tested tonight. However, there are two deadly secrets. The first is a potentially fatal flaw in the reactor's design that everyone is unaware of. This flaw, which makes it highly unstable when running at low power. The second secret involves the foreman Anatoly Dyatlov himself. 12:31AM: Dyatlov is ignoring important advice for the test. The power should be 700 to 1000 megawatts according to the guidelines. But Dyatlov wants the test ran at 200 megawatts to preserve cooling water. Dyatlov is not unreasonable, rather he is trying to operate under communism. He's aware that expectations from superiors are often unrealistic, Frequently making shortcuts the only answer. Winding the power down has resulted in it dropping too fast. 12:33AM: One mile away from Chornobyl is the town Pripyat. Those who live here work at the power station or are family members. Among them, soundly asleep, is Nikolai Fomin who ordered the test. 12:38AM: The reactor has ground to a complete halt. Dyatlov decides to pull all the control rods out of the reactor to raise power. These function as the accelerators and the brakes of the reactor. 12:42AM: The men revolt against Dyatlov, but fail, And so the reactor is powered up. Within five minutes, power is rising again. The staff have every reason to fall in line. They and their families get to live in Pripyat. Losing their job means losing their home and being transferred god knows where in Siberia. The power is at the level Dyatlov wants it for the test. 1:09AM: A water shortage sets off alarms in the power plant. Everyone estimates that the chances of an accident are astronomical. But the men don't know the reactor as well as they think they do. They are victims of years of cover up and negligence. Something is happening in the reactor's core that no one is aware of. The reactor is now building an unseen energy in the core. An energy that could prove to be fatal. 1:12AM: Dyatlov is determined to push through the test despite opposition. Back in 1960 he had worked in Siberia installing nuclear reactors into submarines. There was a nuclear accident. Dyatlov was exposed to 200 rim. 3 lifetimes worth of radiation. Soon after the accident, Dyatlovs son died of leukemia. It may have been coincidence, but that's the most common disease children get when exposed to radiation. 1:22AM: The test will shut off the power to the massive turbines and let them coast. But there is a 40-second gap before the diesel generators kick in. Without that water, the reactor could boil dry like a huge kettle. 1:23AM: The power to the turbines is turned off. As the turbines wind down, the pumps push less water through the core. More steam generates from less water. Steam pressure builds at the hot spot with each passing second. As the steam pressure rises, it spreads to the pump room. Steam pressure is lifting the 350 kilogram caps to the fuel rods out of their sockets. The men begin to panic. The AZ-5 (scram) button is pressed, which lowers the control rods to reduce power. But it has an unforeseen and fatal effect. The boron control rods are tipped with graphite. And in that short moment when they are inserted, the graphite leads to a surge in power, not a reduction. As this happens, the power increases hundreds of times. Steam pressure at the reactor's core cannot be contained. 50 control rods rip to shreds. Chornobyl explodes. Seconds later, Chornobyl explodes one final time. 50 tons of nuclear fuel is blown into the atmosphere, 10 times that of the Hiroshima bombing. 700 tons of radioactive graphite is blown around the plant.

An accident has occurred at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. One of the nuclear reactors were damaged. Steps are being taken to deal with the situation. Aid is being given to those affected, the government has formed a commission of inquiry. It turned out that the government had lied to everyone - what a surprise, huh? The peaceful atom was not safe, causing everyone to become violently ill from an invisible enemy called radiation. When reactor number 4 exploded, radiation it released spread significantly to Belarus and other parts of Europe.

The blackened wind blows throughout the hills, And no one knows that it secretly kills, A regretful man couldn't understand, Everything had went according to plan. My family and children, scarred and burned, Rotting from within, obviously concerned, We make sad attempts to stop the spread, Of this hellish man-made disaster nightmare before we're dead... (The black wind blows....) We are all dying in a desperate plight, Our children crying as we drop dead each night, Radiation has spread all over Ukraine, Causing us to shed skin, exposing our veins. Nothing can be done, we just have to run, Evacuate one by one, what have they done? My arm's now gone, and so is half my face, Even if we move on, it's still such a waste. (The black wind kills...) [Solo] Chornobyl now stands as an omen of hell, Caused by our own hands, in a concrete shell, And it stands as an omen of demise, Caused by our own hands, made by the unwise. And it stands as an omen of doom, Caused by our own hands, buried in a tomb, And here stands my only child, Caused by our own hands, dying of cancer in the end... (The black wind is all there is...)

Cockroaches are eating me. Cockroaches are eating- Cockroaches are crawling in and out of my brain and gnawing on it with big, sharp, pointy teeth. They're coming... They're coming... Oh god, help me... help me, help - SHUT THE FUCK UP!

I know I've appealed to you about this before... I'm doing it again because all of us have a part in this great drama. I know some substantial progress has been made against cancer, but the startling fact remains that out of every 100 people, 20 at some time, will have cancer. Maybe you, maybe me, maybe someone very close to us. Now, the American cancer society tells us that half of this number can be cured by early diagnosis and treatment - in other words, 10 of that 20 can be saved if they seek help in time. What about the other 10? Their hope lies in research and in the program scientists are pressing all over the country. They're doing their part, we must do ours. So here is our adventure - ours, and the doctors, and the scientists in the crusade against cancer. We must open our minds and our hearts. Our minds to the truth that may save our lives, and our hearts to the Cancer Crusade's appeal. Let's do as a society says - strike back at cancer. Your part in this campaign is to place your contribution in an envelope and mail it to "cancer". C-A-N-C-E-R, care of your local post office. Do it today. Eating you from the inside Causing you pain 'til you die They said you're ok, well they lied I ruin people's lives Begging for me to quit No doctor has an answer You'll never make it I'm terminal cancer You're going to die alone But I'll be your friend til the end The chemo eats at your bones You can stop pretending Begging for me to quit Each day is nothing but blur Nothing will make me stop it I'm terminal cancer [Solo] Life slips away each day With every single breath Doctors cut most of you away But it still led to your death I have now quit it Your kids are in shock from it Your spouse threw hysterical fits I'm terminal cancer

One day I realized my farts are in the key signature of b minor, because of how people always want to cry because of them, so I was a natural at making music about suffering.
